Public Works crews are back together after being separated into two crews during the COVID-19 crisis. They are working standard hours, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and services will continue as typically scheduled. The Department of Public Works has three divisions:
  • Administration, Engineering and Inspections and Maintenance of Municipal Property
  • Streets
  • Parks


The Administration, Engineering and Inspections and Maintenance of Municipal Property Division is responsible for the initiation and construction of public improvements on city-owned land, easements and rights of way. They also provide engineering services, project management, contract administration and maintenance of all city infrastructure from design to completion.


The Streets Division is responsible for providing all necessary repairs to concrete and asphalt streets, sidewalks, snow and ice removal, leaf pick-up and limb pick-up service.


The Parks Division is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of over 100 acres of land owned by the city, including park properties, road medians and rights of way. This division also maintains the Government Center property and all landscapes in the islands on Ballas Road, Olive Boulevard, Ladue Road, the I-270 interchange and city parks.
