Leaf Vacuuming Halted/Limb Chipping Continues

Leaf Vacuuming: Due to the severe weather, the city’s leaf vacuuming program is temporarily halted due to storm clean-up efforts and extreme cold weather. As frozen leaves cannot be vacuumed, leaf vacuuming will resume once weather conditions allow.

As an alternative, residents may place their leaves in yard waste bags for collection by Allied Waste on regular trash day. Bags are available at the Government Center for a small fee.

Limb Chipping: A special storm limb pick-up for resident continues. Crews were making a second pass thru the city cleaning up from the November 30 storms when the storm came thru last weekend. Public Works crews spent the weekend removing trees and branches that have fallen in the street or right-of-way, and they have now turned their efforts to resident storm limb pick-up.

Special Limb Collection Details:

·         Limbs up to 6 inches in diameter will be accepted.

·         Place items at the curb with cut ends facing the street.

·         Limbs should not be stacked higher than 4 feet tall.

·         Crews cannot pick-up bushes with root wads, any material with thorns, branches less than 3 feet in length, or ˝ inch in diameter.
