Applications for Fall Street Tree Planting Due October 7

CREVE COEUR - Applications are now being accepted for the fall street tree planting program. This public-private partnership is designed to share the costs of trees planted in the city rights-of-way with the residents. The program utilizes funds from the city budget to supplement half of the costs of the trees. This is on a first come, first served basis.

To participate in the street tree planting program a residential property owner must do the following:

• Select a type of tree you would like to be placed along your property from the list provided by the Department of Public Works.
• Deposit $75 toward the share of your cost of the tree and installation.
• Place a stake provided by the city marking the location you would like to see the tree(s) planted. City staff will verify that the location of the tree selected by the resident complies with planting guidelines, traffic conflicts, or potential utility conflicts.
• Trees will be planted in October 2005.

Applications for the fall planting are due October 7. Please refer to the city's Web site or call the Public Works Department at (314) 872-2533 for a complete outline of the program and an application.
